                                               Spring break is almost here!

I hope that all of your families are able to spend extra time together over our upcoming spring break! Continue to find opportunities for reading and math practice in your adventures.

Reading

This week we read about Gooney Bird Greene. We read the rest of Lily to the Rescue. We read to someone and had partners for reader’s theater. There are all kinds of scripts for reader’s theater.

~Molly, Dawson, Madison, Tendaji

Math

We finished a math unit. We finished place value unit 5. We played ‘Get Your Numbers In Order.’ We had lots of fun!

Writing

This week we wrote about opinions. We wrote about if we wanted to live in the desert or the arctic. Yesterday we wrote if kids should have homework. We also wrote about our opinion about ice cream.

Science

We made a mountain. We tested what makes water flow. We just finished a unit in science, our second one. We tested mud to see if they are strong for building.

Special Things

We watched the first graders perform a Pajama Party musical. We watched the sing and dance. We dressed as book characters. We went to Miss Grimm’s room.
